Suzuki has finally launched the 2020 Ciaz facelift in Thailand. The Ciaz facelift was first launched in India back in August 2018 and since then has reached markets where the Indian-made Ciaz is exported.
To comply with Thailand’s stringent Eco-car regulations, the 2020 Suzuki Ciaz facelift is powered by 1.2 liter K12B engine with 91 hp and 118 Nm that comes paired to either a 5-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. As seen on the Indian version, the Ciaz facelift gets a new front fascia with updates including a re-designed grille, new swept-back headlamp cluster which includes projector lamps and LED DRLs. The front end also gets a new bumper with bigger intakes and sportier design. There are also new 16-inch alloy wheels and minor updates to the rear such as new LED tail lamps as well as chrome garnishing on rear bumper.
Unlike the Indian Ciaz which gets a dual beige/ black combination interior, the Thai-sped Ciaz gets an all black-themed cabin with leather seats and steering, in addition to chrome door handles, multi-function steering wheel, keyless entry and push start, auto air conditioning, rear air vents, pollen filter and a Suzuki Smart Connect 7-inch touchscreen head unit with Bluetooth, navigation plus Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink compatibility supported by 6 speakers. One of the key selling points is the generous 565 liters of boot space the car offers.
In terms of safety, the 2020 Suzuki Ciaz facelift gets ABS with EBD & BA and 2 airbags as standard. The facelift is offered with 6 exterior color options and comes available in standard and range topping sportier RS trim.
Suzuki Ciaz comes in Pakistan as CBU import from Thailand. And since the new 2020 Ciaz facelift has been launched there, we may expect the facelift to arrive in Pakistan anytime soon since the pre-facelift model will no longer remain in production in Thailand.
Whether it’s going to be an updated Ciaz like the rest of the markets or will continue to be a stripped down version like the pre-facelift models launched here, we will have to wait to find out. However one thing is certain, the introduction of facelift in Pakistan will make the Ciaz even pricier which is currently available for PKR 2.3 million for manual and PKR 2.5 million for automatic version.
