Last year, Chinese auto giant Geely launched a dedicated EV brand called Geometry and debuted its first sedan called Geometry A. Now the second product in their lineup– the Geometry C hatchback has just made its debut in China & is set to go against the likes of Nissan Leaf EV.
The Geometry C hatchback adopts similar design cues found on the Geometry A sedan such as the slim and extended headlamps, a covered upper grille, horizontal slats in the lower apron, and a trim piece linking the taillights. However, the hatchback looks sportier than its sedan sibling with large inlets in the corners of the front bumper as well as a “floating roof” thanks to the blacked-out C-pillars. The side profile feature door mounted side mirrors, flush door handles & a shoulder line that sweeps downwards in contrast with the separate character line further down. The rear gets full-width taillights with the company script placed just above the light bar that connects the clusters.
The Geometry C electric hatchback
As far as the dimensions are concerned, the Geometry C measures 4,432 mm long, 1,833 mm wide and 1,560 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. It’s roughly the same size as that of Nissan Leaf while the performance on paper is quite similar too.
The Geometry C is powered by a single electric motor driving the front wheels, which is rated at 200 PS (197 hp) and 310 Nm of torque. The electric hatchback can hit a top speed of 150 km/h and like the Geometry A, will be offered in two battery packs– 51.9 kWh that is good for a range of up to 400 km, while the larger 61.9 kWh battery that offers up to 550 km driving range.
The Geometry C will go on sale in China in July this year with prices & other technical information to be revealed ahead of launch.
