The vehicle was later introduced in European markets (codenamed BC3), with its production taking place at Hyundai’s Izmit plant in Turkey. Now for India the latest i20 is being built at Hyundai’s Chennai plant however the Indian version (codenamed BI3) is marginally shorter in length but is slightly wider & taller than the European version while retaining the exact same wheelbase.

The all new i20 utilizes Hyundai’s latest “Sensuous Sportiness” design language, which is already embodied on the latest Sonata, Elantra & Tucson, and looks even sportier than before. Up front there is parametric jewel pattern grille along with integrated sweptback LED projector headlamps. The side profile features sharp polygonal creases; a steeply-rising beltline accented by the sweeping chrome window trim and blacked-out D-pillars that render a “floating roof” look.

The rear end features a pair of Z-shaped LED tail lamp clusters that are connected together with a horizontal chrome strip. There is a shark fin antenna, an integrated spoiler, a glass embedded rear windshield wiper while the blacked out area on the boot lid underneath the windscreen adds to the sportiness of the new i20. The rear bumper gets similar creases as in the sides & diffuser-like inserts on the lower section, while the diamond cut alloy wheels round up the exterior details.

As seen in the European-spec i20, the interior gets a major overhaul compared to the preceding model with sleek design having an all-black theme with subtle red & chromic highlights with blue ambient lighting to establish a charismatic feel. There is a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster combined with the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring new Bluelink with 50 connected features that include OTA map updates, navigation, voice control wake up command, remote engine start, AC, lock/unlock and immobilization. The Bose 7-speaker stereo system further enhances the in-cabin experience. The new i20 also boasts a one-touch electric sunroof, oxyboost air purification system, puddle lamps and dual Bluetooth connectivity.
