Earlier the Chinese automaker released exterior images of the Preface sedan which was first previewed as a concept at the 2019 Shanghai Auto Show and underpins the award winning Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) platform co-developed by Geely and Volvo.

The interior is just as impressive as the exterior, with a relatively minimalistic yet modern design. The dual-toned dashboard is dominated by a large central touchscreen infotainment unit that displays all vehicle functions, plus there is also a digital instrument cluster located in front of the flat-bottomed multi-function steering wheel.

Below the touchscreen unit, there are slimmer air vents separating the upper dashboard from the lower dash which hosts the engine start, climate control & other vehicle function buttons. Further down, the floating center console allows for additional stowage underneath, with USB and power ports to charge devices. Meanwhile it also house driving-related controls, including the drive by wire gear selector, as well as the electronic handbrake and automatic brake hold switches.

Geely is serious about the flagship Preface sedan as it takes a dig on prestigious German brands including BMW, Mercedes and Porsche in its video commercial released recently. Geely hasn’t revealed powertrain options for the Preface sedan; however as per earlier reports it will get a range of engine options including 2.0 turbo, 1.5 turbo PHEV (plug-in hybrid), and a 1.5 turbo MHEV (mild-hybrid). Final details are expected to be released closer to its launch later this year.
