Kia has introduced a new base variant to the Sportage lineup in Pakistan dubbed as the Sportage Alpha. It comes as the cheapest available variant of Sportage and is priced at PKR 43.99 lac.
Off course being an entry level variant the list of available features are trimmed. The key differences include:
- 17-inch wheels instead of 18-inch
- 7-inch infotainment system instead of 8-inch
- Projector halogen headlights & halogen tail lamps
- Manual parking brake
- No panoramic sunroof
- No fog lights
- No parking sensors
However, the Sportage Alpha retains the 2.0 liter petrol engine that churns out 155 hp of power and 196 Nm of torque, that comes paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission sending power to front wheels. Plus, it still offer features such as dual-zone climate control, multi-function steering wheel, alloy wheels, USB and AUX ports, driver-passenger airbags & cruise control etc. (edit: previously mentioned vehicle specs updated as per info from Kia website). The vehicle is also backed by company’s 4-years/ 100,000 km warranty.
The new Kia Sportage Alpha can be booked against PKR 15.0 lac with deliveries set to commence soon. Already known for creating troubles for the Toyota Fortuner, the Sportage with the introduction of Alpha variant now becomes cheaper than flagship Honda Civic 1.5 Turbo variants and will swarm a good chunk of both Civic & Corolla Altis Grande buyers.
