The car also gets rear parking sensors, vehicle stability control, hill-start assist and auto headlamps and wipers as standard.
The fleet-spec Yaris gets BS-6 compliant 1.5-liter petrol engine producing 107 hp of power and 140 Nm of torque that comes paired to 6-speed manual transmission only. The claimed mileage is 17.18 km per liter. No CVT option is available in the fleet variant, furthermore as per reports CNG option can be made available in future.
Commenting on the development, Naveen Soni, Toyota India Senior Vice President, Sales and Services said:
“Toyota Yaris is a preferred choice in the segment for its world-class safety, quality, durability and reliability features. The listing of Yaris on the GeM will now ensure that car buyers from central and state governments will have a wider choice in the sedan category. We are cognizant that several government undertakings are moving towards procurement from GeM in the post-COVID world and we want to ease their buying experience.”

The Toyota Yaris which sits at the bottom of the competition is expected to see a rise in sales with the introduction of fleet variant particularly due to cheap price tag and loaded safety equipment. The Yaris fleet variant will primarily be available in a Super White paint scheme but other color options should be available on request, the company says.
