The all new Nissan Sunny made its debut at the Dubai Motor Show in November 2019. Now the 2020 Sunny is available in showrooms across the Middle East region with a starting price of Dh57,900 (including VAT) which is equivalent to PKR 25.08 lac. This generation was first unveiled in April last year in USA where it’s called as Versa, while in ASEAN markets the Sunny is sold with Almera nameplate.
The new Sunny sits on Common Modular Family (CMF-B) platform that also underpins the new Micra and Renault Clio. Measuring 4,495 mm long and 1,740 mm wide, while having a wheelbase of 2,620 mm, the new Sunny is even larger than 6th gen Honda City in all the above parameters and offers an exceptional cabin space.
Exterior features include Nissan’s signature V-Motion fascia that is flanked by LED signatures, which are repeated at the back as well. Towards the sides, the new Sunny features a floating roof design whereas the back is largely inspired by the new Altima sedan with boomerang shaped tail lights.

The new Sunny gets an independent strut front suspension and a torsion beam rear axle. Braking is provided by standard power-assisted front disc/rear drum brakes with ABS, EBD and BA. Safety features include driver and passenger airbags, standard LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) system, child safety rear door locks, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), Traction Control System (TCS), Nissan Vehicle Immobilizer System and Easy Fill Tire Alert System, in addition to Intelligent Automatic Emergency Braking, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Blind Spot Warning, and Intelligent Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
According to Thierry Sabbagh, Managing Director of Nissan Middle East:
“The Nissan Sunny continues to be a favorite for the region – selling over 474,500 units in the GCC alone since its introduction to the region in 1994. The all-new Sunny 2020 retains the essence of this sedan, while adding a sleek design and tech upgrades to provide an enhanced driving experience. The new look is striking and refined in equal measure, and we can’t wait for customers in the region to try out the all-new Sunny experience.”
