Changan Preparing to Launch its First Sedan in Pakistan 1

In September last year, we reported that Chinese auto giant Changan having partnered with Master Motors is considering to launch new passenger cars in Pakistan. Now as per our credible source within the company, we have learned that the first among these new cars will be a sedan.

According to information the sedan will most likely be the new 3rd gen Alsvin that comes equipped with a BlueCore 1.5 liter DVVT low-carbon emission engine under its hood and comes mated to a 5-speed manual and 5-speed automatic transmission options.

Upon arrival the Changan Alsvin will take on the likes of Honda City Aspire and Toyota Yaris AtivX in our market. As per sources the company is in position to begin trials & testing once the coronavirus crisis settles & the lockdowns are over. As reported earlier, the company is also considering to introduce more passenger cars including sedans & SUVs down the line.

Final launch date and other technical details regarding the vehicle remain unknown at this stage since obviously the specs & features will be tailored to suit the Pakistani market. Compact hatchbacks are awaited, as most of our population can’t afford expensive cars, under one million passenger cars will be preffered.

You are expecting Mehran again under 1M otherwise cheapest Alto from big 3 is touching 1.4M price and even more increase is sure.

I think its about time Pakistanis should start encouraging new companies and stop supporting Toyota Suzuki & Honda. Otherwise just dont complain and keep buying expensive substandard cars from these 3
