Toyota Yaris Launch Postponed Amid Coronavirus Spread

Toyota Yaris launch in Pakistan has officially been postponed by Indus Motor Company (IMC). The grand event was originally scheduled for 27th March however due to coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the company had decided to conduct a soft launch on the 24th of March.

Now due to major lockdowns being observed across the country, the company has postponed the Yaris launch until further notice. Not only this, IMC has also officially announced to close its production plant to help stop the spread of the deadly virus. According to information, Toyota dealerships will also remain closed for the next 2 weeks.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic, automobile production & parts supply chain have witnessed major disruption in various parts of the world including Pakistan. With key manufacturing plants halting their operations across the globe, automobile companies including those operating in Pakistan are going to face a really tough time in future.

Automobile sales in our country were already slashed by -52% due to slowdown in economy and outrageously rising car prices, and the COVID-19 situation will only add to the miseries of local auto industry.
