Where Kia Sportage and Hyundai Tuscon have a 2.0L engine, this new Hybrid SUV will have a 1.8L engine as confirmed by our source, however, since it is a Hybrid vehicle coupled with an electric motor, it will give a combined output of a 2.4L capacity engine. Not only this, but the vehicle will also be able to run on EV mode. Since the new Toyota SUV is a hybrid vehicle, it will be environmentally friendly and will benefit the consumer in terms of fuel consumption.

Speculative renderings of Toyota’s new crossover SUV

To explore the benefits of a hybrid vehicle, we did a comparison between a 1.8L Civic/ Grande and a 1.8L Prius. The results were surprising! By using a hybrid vehicle, approximately Rs 500,000 worth fuel can be saved! Which means that the new Toyota SUV will also be saving, on an average, the similar amount of fuel in comparison to Kia Sportage and Hyundai Tuscon.

 Grande/Civic  Prius

Daily KM drive 50 KMs 50 KMs
Monthly Mileage 1,500 KMs 1,500 KMs
Average mileage 11 KM/Ltr 22 KM/Ltr
Average consumption per month 136 Liters 68 Liters
Fuel Cost Rs 117 Rs 117
Total monthly consumption Rs 15,955 Rs 7,977

Model Life Cost (5 years Life cycle) 957,273/- 478,636/-
Total Savings Rs 478,636

According to information, the new SUV will initially be imported as CBU however, depending on its success, there is a strong chance that it will be locally assembled. This seems to be very promising as it will bring along in Pakistan not just a vehicle but also the technology and training to go with it.

The number of vehicles introduced in the market this year has been amazing! With the expected launch of Hyundai Tucson, the competition in SUV’s is going to increase dramatically this year. However, the new Toyota SUV in particular, seems to be a strong contender in the SUV market. We believe its an exciting development as there will be a very healthy competition between Toyota’s new Hybrid SUV, Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson as well as the Proton X70. Does one really think Toyota will ,launch yet another Hybrid SUV just to complete Kia and Hyundai? Why doesn’t Toyota make market by launching CHR and RAV 4 instead. Secondly Toyota would like to concentrate to Make Fortuner a success by some lucrative steps. Tucson and Sporatge are not making any problem for Toyota for which Toyota need to launch a competitive SUV !!

There’s no Sportage/Tucson competitor other than RAV4, seems like Indus is going to launch a chr facelift while portraying it as a Sportage/Tucson competitor

It is disgusting to see people criticizing on a matter the nature of which is beyond their expertise. However, it is expected because overall buguz has become part of Pakistani society, instead of appreciating some decent efforts, which they never even imagined were possible, all they can think of is to somehow undermine other people’s positive work. It is due to these portals that people have found a free voice for letting out their feelings. I think the least we can do in return is to first determine the nature of content and then indulge in slandering. Keep up the… Read more »
