2020 Hyundai Verna Facelift Launched in India from INR 9.31 Lac

Hyundai has launched the 2020 Verna facelift in India priced from INR 9.31 lac. However the launch ceremony was pulled off due to coronavirus lockdowns. The 2020 Hyundai Verna is available in 5 grades and 11 variants in total, each of which is priced as:

The 2020 Hyundai Verna facelift features a sportier and more stylish design featuring trendy bumper, bolder cascading grille, revised lower air intake, repositioned fog lamps and sharper LED headlamps with DRLs. Towards the rear there is a sportier bumper with a faux diffuser and full-width chrome trim & tweaked LED tail lamps. There are new side view mirrors, chrome door handles & new 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels on offer as well.

The first-ever Hyundai Verna Turbo boasts an even sportier exterior, with cascading grille finished in gloss black, distinctive 16-inch grey alloy wheels, exclusive rear bumper with faux air outlets & faux diffuser and a twin-tip exhaust outlet.

The interior of the 2020 Hyundai Verna is also quite new. The updated sedan The Turbo variant also benefits from an exclusive all-black color scheme with red accents.

On the inside, the 2020 Verna facelift gets dual-tone black-beige paint scheme along with several exciting features. It has a digital instrument cluster comprising monochrome speedometer and tachometer and a 4.2-inch color MID, as well as a new, 8.0-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system with a sleeker control panel. There is a new Blue Link suite including 45 connected car features. The new model includes paddle shifters, but only in the Turbo variant which comes in an all-black interior with red stitches on the upholstery. It also sports digital cluster with colour TFT, multi-function steering wheel, front ventilated seats, twin-tip muffler design, smart trunk, emergency stop signal, wireless phone charger, Eco coating, rear USB charger, sliding front center console armrest with storage, seat height adjuster, electric sunroof and Arkamys premium sound and more.

The new 2020 Hyundai Verna facelift comes with three engine options – 1.5L MPi petrol that makes 113 hp & 144Nm, 1.0L Kappa Turbo GDi petrol producing 118 hp & 172Nm and 1.5L U2 CRDi diesel that churns out 113 hp & 250Nm. Both 1.5L petrol and diesel engines come paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard along with optional iVT, 6-speed automatic gearbox. The turbo petrol engine comes equipped with a 7-speed DCT gearbox.

This generation of Verna in its pre-facelift guise was also crowned as the 2018 Indian Car of the Year Award. As before, the Hyundai Verna facelift will compete against the likes of Honda City, Suzuki Ciaz, Skoda Rapid and Toyota Yaris in the Indian market.
