Earlier today, first exclusive images of Toyota’s upcoming entry-level sedan have made it to the internet. The black car in the pictures below is the base variant while the grey one is the range topping Ativ X.

The Toyota Yaris sedan will come as a replacement of 1.3 liter Corolla XLi and GLi variants. As per information, Toyota will be launching the Yaris sedan in two engine capacities– 1.3L and 1.5L thus effectively taking on the Honda City and its Aspire variants. The 1.3 liter engine is 4NR-FE unit that churns out 98hp of power and 123Nm of torque, while the 1.5 liter 2NR-FE unit punches out 106hp of power and 140Nm of torque. Both the engines will come paired to either 5-speed manual or CVT gearbox options.

As evident from the pictures, the Yaris will come equipped with LED DRLs, front fog lamps, 10-spoke multi-tone alloy wheels, chrome door handles, side mirrors with integrated turn signals etc. Inside there will be a multi-function steering wheel, climate control, touch-screen multimedia system and push button engine start/ stop feature etc. The up-spec versions will get chrome embellishments inside & out thus differentiating from the regular variants. In terms of safety all variants will come equipped with dual airbags, ABS with EBD and engine immobilizer.
