2020 Honda City Recalled In Thailand, Deliveries Halted 1

Honda is recalling the all new City in Thailand to fix an issue with the window run channel. Now less than 2 months of its launch, the Japanese automaker has issued a recall notice for the new City and has asked its Thai dealers to halt deliveries of the vehicle and even call back the cars which have been delivered already.

According to information, there is some issue with the rubber strip that runs around the windows of the car. Honda is investigating the issue and will inform dealers once there is some update. The issue will reportedly be rectified free of cost.

Honda is battling with quality concerns globally. In recent past, the company had issues with the electric parking brake of the new generation Honda N-WGN as well as the new generation Honda Jazz (Honda Fit) in Japan, because of which it had to stop the former’s production temporarily and postpone the latter’s launch.

Honda had developed the 2020 City in Thailand and has been manufacturing the sedan at its Ayutthaya plant. Later this year, two more plants, namely the Tapukara plant in India and Yorii plant in Japan are expected to commence production of the new sedan. The all new Honda City is set to make its debut in various markets including India, Malaysia and Australia this year whereas launch in other markets will follow thereafter.
