Honda to Work for Only 8 Days in December

Auto sector in Pakistan continues to struggle as sales of locally assembled cars plunged 44% to 49,110 units during the first 5 months of current fiscal year, according to the data released by Pakistan Automobile Manufacturers Association (PAMA).

Among local auto assemblers, Honda Atlas is the one suffering the most as the company is already observing non-production days (NPDs) since July. Now it has announced to work for only 8 days in December due to depressing sales and piled-up unsold stocks. This will make the total NPDs to 108 (out of 184 days) between July and December 2019.

From the looks of it, the output in December is going to be equally disappointing. However still there is no plan in company’s consideration to cut prices or introduce any sort of discounts or incentives to aid the declining sales.
