Is Pak Suzuki Alto 660cc Getting Another Price Increase?

Pak Suzuki is considering to revise the prices of Alto variants for the second time since the vehicle was launched in June. According to unofficial sources, the Alto variants might get a price bump ranging from Rs 25,000 to up to Rs 50,000 applicable most likely towards the first week of October.

With industry suffering from a slowdown in sales, the newly launched Alto 660cc is the only car that’s selling in handsome numbers. Since there is no other option available, and the imports of used JDMs have been curbed by the government earlier this year, Pak Suzuki enjoys an unchallenged monopoly in small car segment.

Just a month after the vehicle was introduced, the Alto prices were revised by up to Rs 138,000 but still that hasn’t created any dent on the sales of Pak Suzuki’s entry level hatchback. In the first two months of this fiscal year 2019-20, the once-bestsellers Cultus and WagonR sold 3,985 units combined, contrary to this the newly launched Alto managed to sell 8,019 units in the same period which is more than twice the combined number of Cultus and WagonR sales.

Recently the company announced to suspend booking of the base Alto VX variant along with few other vehicles since it was supposedly the least selling version that comes without air-conditioning against a price tag of PKR 11.35 lac, however the VXR and VXL AGS that contributes to the bulk of sales will continue to be sold.

Pak Suzuki is yet to officially announce the price increase. Whether the company keeps the prices intact or will formally announce price revisions, we will have to wait to find out. The 2019 Pak Suzuki Alto 660cc currently retails at:

Alto VX:PKR 11.35 Lac
Alto VXR:PKR 12.38 Lac
Alto VXL AGS:PKR 14.33 Lac
