Almost a decade after the first generation Juke stunned the world as a compact funky crossover, Japanese automaker Nissan has finally unveiled the second generation 2020 Nissan Juke.

When Nissan Juke first arrived it had virtually no competitors whatsoever, today while the Juke boasts over a million unit sales, it has not less than 20 rivals in global markets. The new Juke is Nissan’s answer to the competition. According to Nissan, the 2nd gen Juke has been created for those who value design, technology and performance, in addition to practicality, in the crossover segment. Nissan says that the new Juke aims to “reinvent the segment once again” and will be as “fun to drive as ever” thanks to new levels of performance and technology.
The 2nd generation Juke is slightly larger than the previous one but as Nissan says, it retains its fun-to-drive characteristics. The new Juke sits on Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance’s CMF-B platform, which also underpins the latest Renault Captur. Measuring 4,210 mm long and 1,800 mm wide, the new Juke’s footprint is 85 mm longer and 170 mm wider than before, however it sits 30 mm lower and has a 105 mm longer wheelbase.

Although the new Juke gets bigger but it’s 23kg lighter than the previous one. Thanks to high strength steel and a more rigid platform that offers better stability, performance and cornering capabilities, and new levels of confidence and control, as claimed by Nissan.
The new Juke carries its recognizable elements such as the large round headlamps sitting below the first tier of lights as well as the floating roof design. However Nissan’s signature V-motion grille has been added. The Juke sits on 19-inch alloys for the first time. The headlamps are LEDs as standard and they have a new Y-shaped element within. Plus the Juke is available in 11 color options with multiple dual-tone schemes offering enhanced personalization.

The 2020 Nissan Juke gets a revised interior featuring an 8-inch floating touchscreen. It provides access to the new NissanConnect infotainment system, which among other things offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Nissan says that the new Juke boasts improved driver positions, increased rear roominess and more user-friendly controls and storage. There are also new soft-touch materials on the dashboard, door trim and footwell, plus standard monoform sporty seats and optional Alcantara or leather upholstery.

Under the hood, the new Juke gets a 1.0 liter 3-cylinder DIG-T turbocharged petrol engine with 116 hp, mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic with paddle shifters. There is a drive selector with Eco, Standard and Sport modes.
Safety features include Intelligent Emergency Braking with Pedestrian and Cyclist Recognition, Traffic Sign Recognition, Intelligent Lane Intervention, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Blind Spot Intervention.

Prices start at £17,395 for the Visia, and rise to £23,895 for the Tekna+ range-topper. The DCT ‘box is a £1,400 premium. The Premiere Edition costs from £23,995 and will be limited to 140 cars. The new Nissan Juke will become available for sale starting from Europe towards November 2019.
