Renault has launched the 2019 Duster facelift in India, with prices starting at INR 7.99 lac. The new Duster SUV is available in 9 variants, with three engine options and two transmission options.

The 2019 Renault Duster facelift features a new sculpted bonnet, an updated bumper, new chrome grille and projector headlamps with LED DRLs. The rear sports a revised bumper and tailgate with black appliqué. It also receives new 17 inch dual tone alloy wheels.

Inside, the new Duster facelift comes equipped with redesigned dashboard with new faux aluminum and piano black elements, rectangular AC vents on the centre console, a new steering wheel and new dual-tone black and dark brown color scheme. It also gets an updated MEDIANAV infotainment system.

Safety features such as dual airbags, ABS with EBD and BA are standard, while the automatic and AWD trims get additional features such as ESC and hill-start functionality.

Engine options on the Renault Duster facelift include a 1.5-liter petrol and a 1.5-liter diesel motor. The diesel variant of the Duster facelift is offered in the 85 hp and 108 hp configurations. The petrol version is available with a choice of either a 5-speed manual or a CVT while the diesel is offered with a 6-speed manual and an Easy-R AMT transmission.

Speaking at the launch, Venkatram Mamillapalle, CEO & Managing Director of Renault India said:

Duster plays a pivotal role in our product portfolio and has the widest offering in the segment, enabling us to cater to evolving customer needs. We are confident that the new Duster will resonate well with discerning Indian customers.”

Renault which teamed up with Al-Futtaim for Pakistan with an investment of $165 million, was supposed to introduce its range of vehicles by mid 2020. However the company has put its operations on hold and is seeking an extension in the time frame to launch their cars along with an extension in the 10-year tax holiday under the SEZ incentives. The government is currently negotiating with Renault-Al-Futtaim, while Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce and Industry Abdul Razak Dawood has reassured the company of full cooperation and support amid their decision to exit from the Pakistani market even before officially beginning the activities.
