PKR 4 Million Price Range Offers Diverse Options

The ongoing Rupee devaluation against the US Dollar have resulted in outrageous price hikes as local auto assemblers are constantly increasing car prices every time Pak Rupee takes a toll. This, coupled by the recent implementation on FED have taken the prices of cars in Pakistan to another level.

Government in its latest financial budget for year 2019-20 has imposed 2.5% FED on vehicles up to 1000cc engine capacity, 5% FED on vehicles with 1001 to 2000cc engine capacity and 7.5% FED on cars above 2001cc engine displacement.

In a nutshell, car prices in Pakistan have seen approximately a 50% increase since January 2018 already. And while mass market car models have gone out of the reach of average buyers, there are now more options for those with good purchase power.

The latest price revision has pushed the price of Honda Civic 1.5L Turbo RS to PKR 4,399,000– lets simply call it PKR 44 lac. Anyone who can spend four and a half million can add a couple of lacs more and get an Isuzu D-Max V-Cross 3.0L for PKR 46.5 lac.

Furthermore Kia-Lucky Motors have started accepting bookings for the Sportage SUV which is scheduled to be launched in August. The 2019 Kia Sportage has been priced at PKR 45.9 lac for the FWD version. Toyota Rush 1.5L MPV is another option in 4 million price league at PKR 42.86 lac. The 1.6L Suzuki Vitara GLX is also available for PKR 42.95 lac.

If you observe, there are plenty of options in this price bracket ranging from sedans, SUVs, MPV as well as pickup trucks. It then boils down to consumer’s needs as to which option he intends to buy.
