Pak Suzuki Launches Alto 660cc in Pakistan 1

Pak Suzuki has finally launched the 8th generation Alto 660cc in Pakistan. The new hatchback will be the entry level offering in Pak Suzuki’s lineup that has replaced the 30-years old Mehran. Available in 3 variants, the 2019 Alto 660cc is priced as:

VXPKR 9.99 lac
VXRPKR 11.01 lac
VXL AGSPKR 12.95 lac

The base VX trim is deprived off everything, it doesn’t even have air-conditioner as already reported. Only things worth to mention are power steering, fan/ heater and that’s about it! Interestingly there is a 1-din audio unit but no speakers as far as the specs sheet is concerned.

The VXR version has power steering, air-conditioner, dual airbags and 2-din audio unit with 2 speakers. Both VX and VXR comes equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission. The top-spec VXL AGS comes with dual airbags, ABS, air-conditioner, multi-tone interior color, touch screen infotainment system, USB/ AUX input, Bluetooth, 2 speakers, power steering, power windows, power retractable mirrors, seat belts with force limiters and off course the auto gear shift mechanism.

The Alto is powered by a 658cc fuel injected unit that produces 38 hp and peak torque of 56 Nm. All versions come fitted with standard 13” steel rims with no spare wheel, instead there is a tire mending kit as found in JDMs. Pak Suzuki is offering a 3-years/ 60,000km warranty with the new Alto, whichever occurs first.

And then, what would you have us buy? A car imagined by you? Maybe it shall cost below PKR 500,000 but, shall have the faded interior in a year or two.

Need just one answer from all those who are bashing the launch of Alto. Do we have any other option in this category and price? When new shape of Suzuki Cultus was launched, people were bashing it the same way, however, people are buying it huge numbers.

Suzuki is not stopping any other company to launch similar cars. I don’t know why FAW didn’t come up with Auto Variant of FAW V2.

The problem is these Big 3 companies (Toyota, Suzuki & Honda) dominating Pakistan have mutual consensus to work in their specific market segment, otherwise why Toyota & Honda don’t dare to launch smaller engine cars in Pakistan like they do in Japan? Besides that, the launch of first ever 660cc car in Pakistan was long awaited and much needed considering its demand. People were buying Japanese used Kei cars in huge numbers but when the same category is introduced by Pak Suzuki with almost similar price tag, people have started criticizing even before using.

Looks to be a great car to have especially with the VXL features. The Alto 660cc could be a successful car in Pakistan
