Global NCAP has awarded the second generation Honda Amaze subcompact sedan with 4-star crash test rating. The Honda Amaze for African market comes with standard dual airbags, front seatbelt pre-tensioners and a driver seatbelt reminder. The Global NCAP tests the cars to crash into a barrier with a 40% offset at a speed of 64 km/h. The Amaze scored 4 stars for adult safety protection and scored a total of 14.08 maximum points out of 17 for adult safety. However it scored just 1 star for child occupant protection, with 8.16 points out of 49.
The African spec Honda Amaze comes with a 1.2 liter engine with 5-speed manual as well as CVT gearbox options. The engine delivers 88 hp of power and 110 Nm of torque. It competes against the likes of Suzuki Dzire, Ford Figo sedan and BAIC D20 sedan in the African market.
