Changan Star Pickups Receives Facelift in China

Changan has introduced facelift to their Star Pickup range in China. The facelift includes revised front end, enhanced capacity, updated suspension and new engine.

The Star pickups now gets a vertically slatted grille pattern, while the bumpers’ lower apron section gets a double trapezoidal grille with mesh pattern. Changan has increased the carrying capacity of the pickup. The deck size of the single-cab version is 3010/1520/320mm, while that of double-cab is 2520/1520/370mm. The wheelbase measures 3200 mm.

In order to provide a better load bearing capacity, better strength and rigidity than the previous radial beam setup, Changan has now introduced more powerful rectangular tubular beam setup. In terms of power, the new vehicle is equipped with a 1.5 liter DAM15R1 naturally aspirated engine with a maximum power of 112 hp and a peak torque of 142Nm, paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.

The facelifted Changan Star pickup series will go on sale in China towards the end of January 2019 with prices expected to range between 30,000 yuan to 50,000 yuan (PKR 6.05 lac to PKR 10.08 lac).
