Sold by Rayen Khodro Motor Company, part of the Kerman Khodro group of Iran, the company assembles the V5 sedan under Rayen brand name, and is marketed as Rayen V5. Although the vehicle was first introduced in Iran by Q3, 2015 it wasn’t able to do well due to alleged poor pricing, company’s organizational problems and the lack of availability of an automatic transmission. Now the V5 is set to make a comeback with some improvements.

Known as an economical option, the FAW V5 subcompact sedan is built on the same NBC (New Basic Car) platform, on which the V2 hatchback is built. The V5 sedan is powered by a 1.5-liter, 16-valve, VVT engine that produces 97 horsepower, sending power to the front wheels.

The engine meets Euro-IV emission standards and delivers up to 15 km in a liter. This time around, the V5 will get an AMT transmission in Iran as there will be no manual version on offer.

Key features include anti-theft engine immobilizer, driver & front passenger airbags, reversing sensors and ISO-FIX child seat anchorage. Official prices are yet to be announced while the car is expected to be launched by early 2019.
