The Ciaz currently accounts for a 28.8% market share in the segment which comprises of the likes of Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Toyota Yaris, Volkswagen Vento, Skoda Rapid and others.

Furthermore, since the facelift was introduced on the 20th of August, the new Ciaz has registered over 10,000 bookings in the first month, achieving yet another milestone. Speaking about the great response to the 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz facelift, Senior Executive Director, Marketing & Sales for Maruti Suzuki India, Mr. RS Kalsi said:

“We are delighted with the response to the new Ciaz. Over 10,000 customers have booked the New Ciaz in the first month of its launch. The complete package of unmatched performance, bold looks, elite interiors, convenience of space and host of safety features clearly pulls the new Ciaz ahead of competition. Today, Ciaz is one of the most successful premium sedans in India. With a sale of over 24,000 units in the first half of this fiscal, Ciaz has taken the pole position in the A3+ segment this year so far. We are thankful to customers for their confidence and choice that reinforces our commitment to offer premium products.”

September 2018 sales of Maruti Ciaz stood at 6,246 units which is more than the sales figures of its arch rivals Honda City and Hyundai Verna combined. Honda City achieved 2,564 units whereas Hyundai Verna sold 3,501 units (6,065 units total). These sales makes the Suzuki Ciaz the best selling model in its segment not only for the month of September, but this trend has been seen ever since the Ciaz was launched in the Indian market.

The launch of Ciaz facelift has pushed down the sales of the Honda City which was once a top selling car. Furthermore Toyota Yaris despite being well equipped, saw sales at just 595 units in September making it the second worst performing sedan of the month.
