Changan Raeton CC Got 5 Stars from CNCAP Crash Tests

Changan’s Raeton CC has been awarded with a 5-star rating in the latest round of crash tests conducted by CNCAP (China New Car Assessment Program).

The model tested was the 1.5 liter turbocharged variant with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Raeton CC scored an impressive 86.9% points to get the 5-star rating from the Chinese crash test authority.

These CNCAP tests were conducted on new stringiest regulations that were implemented on the 1st of July 2018. The equipment and safety requirement bar has been raised compared to the previous testing standards with side airbags, front seatbelt reminders, ESC as well as pedestrian protection and AEB included in the list.

The Raeton CC sits on Changan’s entirely new P3 platform and measures 4780/1825/1465mm with a wheelbase of 2770mm. The engine is a 1.5 liter turbocharged unit producing 156hp, mated to a six-speed manual or automatic transmission, sending power to the front wheels.

Features worth mentioning are Panoramic Sunroof, LED DRLs, Reversing Camera, 6 Airbags, ABS with EBD and ESC, a new multi-link independent rear suspension, push-start button, collision warnings, electrically adjustable & heated/ ventilated front seats, intelligent driving assistance (IDA) including pedestrian recognition, Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), lane assistance system which also give voice signals to alert the driver.

The Changan Raeton CC in China is priced from 89,900 yuan (PKR 16.17 lac) for the base model to up to 138,900 yuan (PKR 24.98 lac) for the flagship variant.
