A year after the current generation XV70 Camry was launched in Japan, Toyota has now introduced the Camry Sports in its home market. The XV70 Toyota Camry Sport was previously available in Australia and USA only.
Exterior design of the Camry Sports is far more aggressive than the standard Camry, coming with a large gloss black X-shaped ornament across the front end, together with bigger air intakes, deeper side skirts, fake air vents under the tail lights, a bootlid lip spoiler and a rear diffuser with twin exposed exhaust exits. The interior gets metallic decorative trim panels and paddle shifters.
The Camry Sports gets a hybrid powertrain consisting of a 178 hp/221 Nm A25A-FXS 2.5 liter Dynamic Force direct-injected petrol engine and a 120 PS/202 Nm electric motor to produce a combined output of 211 PS. Fuel consumption is rated at 33.4 km per liter as per the Japanese JC08 cycle.
Toyota Camry Sports is offered in two variants, the WS (which stands for “Worldwide Sports” says Toyota) and the WS Leather Package. The latter gets genuine leather seats, 18-inch alloy wheels in a new two-tone finish, a head-up display, a power-adjustable driver & front passenger seat and a T-Connect navigation system.
A total of 10 exterior colors are offered with Camry Sports, including three two-tone color schemes that pair Platinum White Pearl Mica, Emotional Red and Dark Blue Mica Metallic with an Attitude Black Mica roof.
