2018 Renault Duster Launched, Might Reach Pakistan

Renault has revealed the 2018 Duster SUV for global markets. Earlier, the company had showcased the new Duster at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2017. The new Renault Duster is largely similar to the Dacia Duster but gets subtle design changes to the front profile.

The new Duster is based on Renault’s modular CMF platform and gets and evolutionary design along with premium interiors and some new features. The SUV remains similar in terms of dimensions as compared to the old model.

The new Duster gets revised front fascia with new stacked headlamps, new chrome grille and redesigned front bumper. The side profile stays largely similar to the out going model with smooth character lines and a high belt line.
The car sports new 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and black plastic body cladding to provide an imposing stance. The rear section is slightly revised as the car now gets new tailgate design and LED taillights with redesigned rear bumper.

The new 2018 Renault Duster gets an all-new cabin with new dashboard layout. The circular air vents have made way for the new rectangular air vents, while the central console and climate control buttons are new as well. The 2018 Duster  also gets a new multi-functional steering wheel and new instrument cluster equipped with a touch-screen infotainment display.

The new Duster will be powered by a 1.5 litre K4M petrol engine that produces 105 bhp and 142 Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox along with a CVT automatic transmission, as well as a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that churns out 124 bhp.

The diesel variants are powered by a 1.5 litre dCi diesel motor which comes mated to a 5-speed and a 6-speed manual gearbox along with a 6-speed Easy-R AMT transmission.

The new Duster will go on sale starting from European markets towards the end of this year.

Renault has earlier indicated to begin their operations in Pakistan with the Duster SUV, as it is considered as the company’s most successful models and does well in this region too. Renault partnered with Al-Futtaim is in process of setting up an automobile assembly plant in Karachi and hopes to start selling their vehicles by 2019.
