The federal government has slashed the withholding tax on registration fee for automobiles in three different categories.

The registration fee for an 800 cc automobile has been dropped from Rs 10,000 to Rs 7,500. For a 1000 cc vehicle, the fee has been cut to Rs 15,000 from Rs 20,000 whereas for the vehicles having a capacity of 1300 cc, the cost is cut to Rs 25,000 from earlier Rs 30,000.
However the above will facilitate tax-filers only, as registration fee for non-filers will remain unchanged.
