Following the launch of Honda City’s facelift, Toyota has launched the 2017 Vios facelift in Thailand priced between 609,000 baht to 789,000 baht. The Thai-spec Toyota Vios borrows its design from the Chinese-spec Vios, which received the same facelift last year.

The 2017 Toyota Vios gets new projector headlights with chrome accents, redesigned upper grille housing the logo more prominently, large hexagonal lower grille with fog lamps at outer ends, vertical LED daytime running strips, new tailgate chrome garnish and tweaked taillights.

Inside, the 2017 Toyota Vios gets an updated instrument cluster and a revised 7-inch touch-screen infotainment system in G and S grades. The Vios J, E, G and S comes with an all black fabric upholstery and door cards, while the Vios E and G grades offer an option of a dual-tone beige interior. The Vios carries a 2NR-FBE 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i engine that produces 108 hp at 6,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm, with CVT (with seven virtual ratios) as standard across the range. Manual transmission is not offered at all. Safety-wise, the Vios comes standard with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, a collision safety body (GOA), Isofix rear child seat anchors, as well as Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and traction control.

Vios is subcompact sedan by Toyota, which is primarily produced for emerging markets in the Asia Pacific region. It is considered as one of the most successful in its class with global sales already exceeding 1.5 million units. The Vios is one of those cars which can become a huge success in our country, and like other Asian regions will give a tough competition to its arch rival Honda City.
