China has donated 25 vehicles to the Gilgit Baltistan Police. These vehicles will help enhance the capacity of the police forces by allowing them quicker access and more agile and effective patrolling mechanism.
The vehicles are Foton Tunland which are becoming a common sight on Pakistani roads in recent times, thanks to CPEC. The Tunland is powered by a 2.8L turbo diesel engine that produces a minuscule 130bhp but an impressive 360Nm of torque.
Foton has already shown keen interest to invest in manufacturing a range of automobiles in Pakistan. The company representatives had a meeting with Finance Misinter Mr. Ishaq Dar, the Chairman of the Board of Investment also attended that meeting. CPEC has opened door for many Chinese automakers to expand their operations in Pakistan, and these companies will play a major role in generating a wave of competition in the automobile sector of our country.
