Hyundai was popular in Pakistan with their Santro hatchback & Shehzore trucks during the previous decade. Though they did launch the expensive Sonata sedan & Coupe layer on but they failed to make an impact in the market. Dewan having announced their possible return in Pakistan, has finalized an agreement with SsangYong Motor of Korea as well in process of negotiations with Kia Motors, which is part of the Hyundai Motor Group.

It is yet to be seen whether Dewan will work on to bring the likes of Hyundai Verna in Pakistan which is an attractive entry level sedan option and can compete well with the handful of existing options.
