Audi Pakistan is all set to launch the facelift model of their A3 sedan in September. The A3 which was launched back in 2014 with a price tag of PKR 4.5 million, became a much attractive option when in 2015, its price was reduced to PKR 3.8 million thanks to its 1.2 liter TFSI (Turbocharged fuel stratified injection) engine.

Since then the A3 can be seen on the roads in considerable numbers and is the best selling Audi in Pakistan. However the A3 is currently not available for order, since Audi is about to launch the 2016 facelift that is scheduled to arrive in mid September will also see revised prices.

The facelift was globally released earlier in April. There are minor tweaks all round, the grille has been sharpened up slightly, as have the lights, meaning the A3’s exterior now resembles the likes of the latest A4. There are new colors on offer while the wheel designs have been updated as well. Xenon lights with LED daytime running lights are standard-fit now, while dazzle-preventing Matrix LED headlight system is also offered.

Standard equipment throughout the range includes the 7”folding MMI radio system, while satellite-navigation is standard on SE Technik models and above. Cruise control is standard on all variants too.

A new 1.0-litre three-cylinder TFSI petrol engine (113bhp, 148lb ft) has been added to the range, so if the 1.2 liter A3 was for PKR 3.8 million, one might expect the 1.0 liter A3 to be cheaper, perhaps a wishful thinking. Audi claims that the kerb weight of the 1.0-litre TFSI A3 is 1150kg, making it the lightest car in its class. Further news will be updated in September, when the vehicle will be officially launched in Pakistan.
